| 5. Retain my words in your inmost thoughts, and obliterate them not from your hearts; for I know that sinners counsel men to commit crime craftily. They are not found in every place, nor does every counsel possess a little of them.

And hold in the thoughts of your hearts, and let not my words be eradicated from your hearts, for I know that the sinners will deceive men to make wisdom wicked, and it [i.e. wisdom] will not find a place, and all kinds of temptations will not cease.

And hold fast my words in the thoughts of your hearts, And suffer them not to be effaced from your hearts; For I know that sinners will tempt men to evilly-entreat wisdom, So that no place may be found for her, And no manner of temptation may minish.

Behållen mina ord i edra innersta tankar, och utplånen dem icke ur edra hjertan; ty jag vet, att syndare på ett listigt sätt råda menniskor att begå brott. De skola icke finnas på något ställe, ej heller skall något råd verka det minsta på dem.

Och behållen mitt tal i edert hjärtas tankar och låten det icke utplånas därur, ty jag vet, att syndarna skola förföra människorna till att afvika från visheten, och hon skall icke finna något rum bland dem, och frestelser af alla slag skola icke aftaga.
