1. The vision which he saw, the second vision of wisdom, which Enoch saw, the son of Jared, the son of Malaleel, the son of Canan, the son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam.

 1. The second vision of wisdom which Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Mahalaleel, the son of Cainan, the son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, saw.

 1. The second vision which he saw, the vision of wisdom – which Enoch the son of Jared, the son of Mahalalel, the son of Cainan, the son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, saw.

 1. Detta är uppenbarelsen som han såg, den andra uppenbarelse af vishet, som Enoch såg, Jareds son, Malaliels sons, Canans sons, Enos sons, Seths sons, Adams sons.

 1. Vishetens andra syn, hvilken Henoch såg, Jereds son, Mahalaleels son, Kenans son, Enos' son, Sets son, Adams son.
2. This is the commencement of the word of wisdom, which I received to declare and tell to those who dwell upon earth. Hear from the beginning, and understand to the end, the holy things which I utter in the presence of the Lord of spirits.

 2. And this is the beginning of the words of wisdom, which I commenced to speak and to relate to those who dwell on the earth: hear, ancestors, and see, descendants, the holy words which I will speak before the Lord of the spirits!

 2. And this is the beginning of the words of wisdom which I lifted up my voice to speak and say to those which dwell on earth: Hear, ye men of old time, and see, ye that come after, the words of the Holy One which I will speak before the Lord of Spirits.

 2. Detta är begynnelsen af visdomens ord, som jag emottog att förkunna och säga åt dem, som vistas på jorden. Hör ifrån begynnelsen och förstå till slutet de heliga ting, som jag förkunnar i närvaro af Andarnes Herre.

 2. Detta är början af vishetens tal, som jag begynte tala, sägande till dem som bo på jorden: Hören, I gamla, och förnimmen, I efterkommande, de heliga ord, som jag skall tala inför andarnas Herre.
3. Those who were before us thought it good to speak; And let not us, who come after, obstruct the beginning of wisdom.

 3. It is proper to name the former first, but from the descendants too we will not keep back the beginning of wisdom.

 3. It were better to declare (them only) to the men of old time, but even from those that come after we will not withhold the beginning of wisdom.

 3. De som voro för oss, ansågo det godt att tala. Och låtom icke oss, som komma efter, tillstänga vishetens början.

 3. De gamla bör man först nämna, och äfven de kommande släktena skola vi icke undanhålla vishetens begynnelse.
4. Until the present period never has there been given before the Lord of spirits that which I have received, wisdom according the capacity of my intellect, and according to the pleasure of the Lord of spirits; that which I have received from him, a portion of life eternal.

 4. And up to the present time there was not given from before the Lord of the spirits the wisdom which I have received according to my knowledge, according to the pleasure of the Lord of the spirits, by whom the portion of life everlasting was given to me.

 4. Till the present day such wisdom has never been given by the Lord of Spirits as I have received according to my insight, according to the good pleasure of the Lord of Spirits by whom the lot of eternal life has been given to me.

 4. Intill närvarande tidpunkt har aldrig inför Andarnes Herre blifvit utdeladt det, som jag erhållit, nemligen vishet i enlighet med mitt förstånds förmåga och i enlighet med Andarnes Herres behag; det som jag har erhållit från Honom, en del af evigt lif.

 4. Och hittills har aldrig af andarnas Herre sådan visdom förlänats, som den jag mottagit efter mitt förstånd, efter andarnas Herres behag, af hvilken det eviga lifvets lott blivit mig beskärd.
5. And I obtained three parables, which I declared to the inhabitants of the world.

 5. Three Parables were given to me; and I commenced to relate them to those who dwell on the earth.

 5. Now three parables were imparted to me, and I lifted up my voice and recounted them to those that dwell on the earth.

 5. Hvad jag har erhållit från Honom var uti ett hundrade *) och tre liknelser, hvilka jag förklarade för verldens invånare.

 5. Trenne syner visades mig, och jag började berätta dem för dem som bo på fästet.
6. 6. 6. 6. *) Nätutg: I sin utgåva från 1838 medgav Laurence att han läst fel ifrån det etiopiska manuskriptet då han översatte denna vers. Rätt skrivet skall det stå: "And I obtained three parables, which I declared to the inhabitants of the world." Eftersom denna svenska utgåva kom redan 1826, följde detta misstag med vid översättningen. En korrekt svensk översättning skulle alltså ha lydit: "Hvad jag har erhållit från Honom var uti tre liknelser, hvilka jag förklarade för verldens invånare."
