14. We have sought an asylum with princes in our distress, and have cried out to those who were devouring us; but our cry has not been regarded, nor have they been disposed to hear our voice;

We complained to the rulers in our trouble and in our pain over those who devoured us; but they did not attend to our cry, and did not wish to hear our voice.

And are complained to the rulers in our tribulation, And cried out against those who devoured us, But they did not attend to our cries And would not hearken to our voice.

Vi hafva sökt en fristad hos furstar i vår nöd, och hafva jämrat oss för dem, som uppslöko oss; men vårt rop har icke blifvit aktadt, ej heller hafva de varit villige att höra vår röst;

I vår bedröfvelse klagade vi öfver dem för de härskande och ropade öfver dem som förtärde oss; men de gåfvo ej akt på vårt rop, och vår stämma ville de icke höra.
