1. I then surveyed the receptacles of all the winds, perceiving that they contributed to adorn the whole creation, and to preserve the foundation of the earth.

 1. And I saw the repositories of all the winds, and I saw how he had ornamented all the creation and the foundations of the earth with them.

 1. I saw the treasuries of all the winds: I saw how He had furnished with them the whole creation and the firm foundations of the earth.

 1. Jag öfversåg sedan förvaringsrummen för alla vindar, bemärkande, att de bidraga att pryda hela skapelsen och att bevara jordens grundval.

 1. Och jag såg jordens grundvalar och alla vindars förvaringsrum och såg hur han därmed utrustat hela skapelsen.
2. I surveyed the stone which supports the corners of the earth. I also beheld the four winds, which bear up the earth, and the firmament of heaven.

 2. And I saw the corner-stone of the earth, and I saw the four winds which support the earth and the firmament of the heavens.

 2. And I saw the corner-stone of the earth: I saw the four winds which bear [the earth and] the firmament of the heaven.

 2. Jag öfversåg den sten, hvilken stödjer hörnen af jorden. Jag såg äfven de fyra vindarne, som upprätthålla jorden och himmelens firmament.

 2. Och jag såg jordens hörnsten och de fyra vindarna, som bära både henne och himmelens fäste.
3. And I beheld the winds occupying the exalted sky. Arising in the midst of heaven and of earth, and constituting the pillars of heaven.

 3. And I saw how the winds expand the heights of the heavens; and they remained between heaven and earth, and they are pillars of heaven.

 3. And I saw how the winds stretch out the vaults of heaven, and have their station between heaven and earth: these are the pillars of the heaven.

 3. Jag såg vindarne uppfylla den upphöjda skyn. Uppstigande i midten af himmelen och af jorden och utgörande himmelens pelare.

 3. Och jag såg huru vindarna spänna ut himmelens hvalf och sväfva mellan himmel och jord; de äro himmelens pelare.
4. I saw the winds which turn the sky, which cause the orb of the sun and of all the stars to set;

 4. And I saw the winds which turn the heavens, which lead down the course of the sun and all the stars.

 4. I saw the winds of heaven which turn and bring the circumference of the sun and all the stars to their setting.

 4. Jag såg vindarne, som drifva molnen, hvilka förorsaka, att solens och alla stjernors klot gå ned;

 4. Och jag såg de vindar, som kringvrida himmelens hvalf och komma solen och stjärnorna att gå ned.
5. and over the earth I saw the winds which support the clouds. I saw the path of the angels. I perceived at the extremity of the earth the firmament of heaven above it. Then I passed on towards the south; Where burnt, both by day and night, six mountains formed of glorious stones; three towards the east, and three towards the south.

 5. And I saw the winds upon the earth which carry the clouds, and I saw the paths of the angels; I saw at the end of the earth the firmament of the heavens above. And I proceeded towards the south; and it burns day and night there where seven hills of precious stones are, three towards the east, three towards the south.

 5. I saw the winds on the earth carrying the clouds: I saw the paths of the angels. I saw at the end of the earth the firmament of the heaven above. And I proceeded and saw a place which burns day and night, where there are seven mountains of magnificent stones, three towards the east, and three towards the south.

 5. och öfver jorden såg jag de vindar, hvilka stödja molnen. Jag såg änglarnes väg. Jag såg vid jordens ända himmelens fäste deröfver. Sedan gick jag vidare söder ut. Hvarest brunno både dag och natt sex berg, skapade af herrliga stenar; tre österut och tre söderut.

 5. Och jag såg jordens vindar, som bära molnen, och såg änglarnas vägar och vid jordens ände himmelens fäste därofvan. Och jag gick vidare, mot söder. Det brinner natt och dag där, hvarest det finnes sju berg af ädla stenar, tre i öster och tre i söder.
6. Those which were towards the east were of a variegated stone; one of which was of margarite, and another of antimony. Those towards the south were of a red stone.

 6. But of those towards the east, one of colored stone, one of pearls, and one of antimony; and those towards the south of red stone.

 6. And as for those towards the east, one was of coloured stone, and one of pearl, and one of jacinth, and those towards the south of red stone.

 6. De som voro österut, voro af en mångfärgad stenart, och ett af dem var af perlor, ett annat af spetsglans (antimonium). De söderut belägne voro af en röd sten.

 6. Och af dem i öster var ett af färgade stenar och ett af pärlstenar och ett af antimon, och de i söder voro af röda stenar.
7. The middle one reached to heaven like the throne of God; a throne composed of alabaster, the top of which was of sapphire.

 7. But the middle one reached up to heaven, like the throne of God, of alabaster, and the summit of the throne of sapphire.

 7. But the middle one reached to heaven like the throne of God, of alabaster, and the summit of the throne was of sapphire.

 7. Det medlersta räckte till himmelen såsom Guds thron, en thron sammansatt af alabaster, hvars spets var af saphir.

 7. Men det mellersta berget räckte ända upp i himmelen, liksom Guds tron, och var af alabaster och dess öfre del af safir.
8. I saw, too, a blazing fire hanging over all the mountains.

 8. And I saw a burning fire which was in all the hills.

 8. And I saw a flaming fire. And beyond these mountains

 8. Jag såg äfven en lågande eld sväfva öfver alla bergen.

 8. Och jag såg i alla bergen brinnande eld.
9. And there I saw a place on the other side of an extended territory, where waters were collected.

 9. And there I saw a place, beyond the great earth; there the waters collected.

 9. is a region the end of the great earth: there the heavens were completed.

 9. Och jag såg der på andra sidan ett ställe af ansenlig vidd, hvarest vattnen samlades.

 9. Och på andra sidan om det stora landet såg jag en ort, där vattnet samlade sig.
10. I likewise beheld terrestrial fountains, deep in the fiery columns of heaven. And in the columns of heaven I beheld fires, which descended without number, but neither on high, nor into the deep.

 10. And I saw a great abyss in the earth, with columns of heavenly fire; and I saw among them columns of heavenly fire, which fall and are without number, either towards the height or towards the depth.

 10. And I saw a deep abyss, with columns of heavenly fire, and among them I saw columns of fire fall, which were beyond measure alike towards the height and towards the depth.

 10. Likaledes såg jag jordiska källor djupt in i himmelens eldstoder. Och i himmelens stoder såg jag eldar, hvilka utflöto utan tal, men hvarken i höjde eller i djupet.

 10. Och jag såg i jorden en djup klyfta med pelare af himmelsk eld, och jag såg andra pelare af himmelsk eld, hvilka hvarken kunde räknas uppåt eller nedåt, falla ned bland dem.
11. Over these fountains also I perceived a place which had neither the firmament of heaven above it, nor the solid ground underneath it; neither was there water above it; nor anything on wing; but the spot was desolate.

 11. And over that abyss I saw a place which had no firmament of heaven above it, and no foundation of earth beneath it, and no water above it, and no birds upon it; it was a void place.

 11. And beyond that abyss I saw a place which had no firmament of the heaven above, and no firmly founded earth beneath it: there was no water upon it, and no birds, but it was a waste and horrible place.

 11. Äfven märkte jag öfver dessa källor ett ställe, som hvarken hade himmelens fäste öfver sig, eller den fasta marken under sig, ej heller fanns vatten der öfver, eller någonting lefvande, utan stället var öde.

 11. Och öfver den klyftan såg jag en ort, som icke hade något himmelens fäste ofvan och ingen jordens grundval under sig, och där fanns intet vatten och inga fåglar, utan det var allenast en öde plats.
12. And there I beheld seven stars, like great blazing mountains, and like spirits entreating me.

 12. And there I saw a terrible thing: seven stars, like great burning mountains and like spirits, that petitioned me.

 12. I saw there seven stars like great burning mountains, and to me, when I inquired regarding them,

 12. Och der såg jag sju stjernor liknande stora lågande berg, och liknande andar, som bönföllo hos mig.

 12. Och förskräckligt var det jag där såg: sju stjärnor, som liknade höga, brinnande berg, och de voro såsom andar och anropade mig.
13. Then the angel said, This place, until the consummation of heaven and earth, will be the prison of the stars, and the host of heaven.

 13. The angel said: "This is the place of the consummation of heaven and earth; it is a prison for the stars of heaven, and for the host of heaven.

 13. The angel said: 'This place is the end of heaven and earth: this has become a prison for the stars and the host of heaven.

 13. Då sade ängelen: Detta ställe skall intill himmelens och jordens slut blifva fängelse för stjernorna och för himmelens här.

 13. Och ängeln sade till mig: Här sluta himmel och jord. Denna ort tjänar till fängelse för himmelens stjärnor och dess härskara.
14. The stars which roll over fire are those which transgressed the commandment of God before their time arrived; for they came not in their proper season.

 14. And the stars that roll over the fire are they who have transgressed the command of God before their rising, because they did not come forth in their time.

 14. And the stars which roll over the fire are they which have transgressed the commandment of the Lord in the beginning of their rising, because they did not come forth at their appointed times.

 14. De stjernor, hvilka rulla öfver elden, äro sådana som öfverträdt Guds befallning, förr än deras tid kom; ty de kommo icke på deras rätta tid.

 14. Och de stjärnor, som kretsa öfver elden, äro de som före sin uppgång öfverträdde Guds befallning, emedan de icke kommo på sin bestämda tid.
15. Therefore was He offended with them, and bound them, until the period of the consummation of their crimes in the secret year.

 15. And he was enraged at them, and bound them till the time of the consummation of their sins in the year of the mystery."

 15. And He was wroth with them, and bound them till the time when their guilt should be consummated (even) for ten thousand years.'

 15. Derföre blef Han förtörnad på dem och inneslöt dem, intill tiden för fullbordan af deras brott i det dolda året.

 15. Och han vredgades på dem och band dem och håller dem bundna ända till den tid, då deras skuld blifver fulländad, under hemlighetens år.
