Derifrån gick jag sedermera till ett annat förfärligt ställe. Hvarest jag såg verkan af en stor glimmande eld, hvilken var delad mitt i tu. Stoder af eld sträfvade tillsamman till afgrundens slut, och djupt var deras nedstigande; men hvarken måttet eller storleken var jag i stånd att upptäcka. Ej heller kunde jag märka dess ursprung. Och därifrån gick jag till ett annat ställe, som var ännu sydligare än det förra, och såg någonting förskräckligt. En stor eld fanns där, som flammade och lågade, och hade inskärningar och var begränsad af en riktig afgrund, och stora pelare af eld kastades ditned.
