1. Then I said, What means this blessed land, all these lofty trees, and the accursed valley between them?

 1. Then I said: "For what purpose is this blessed land, which is entirely filled with trees, and this cursed valley between them?"

 1. Then said I: 'For what object is this blessed land, which is entirely filled with trees, and this accursed valley between? '

 1. Då sade jag: hvad betyder detta välsignade land, alla dessa höga träd, och den förbannade dalen imellan dem?

 1. Då sade jag: Hvartill äro de ämnade, detta välsignade land, uppfyllt med träd, och denna fördömda dal*?
2. Then Uriel, one of the holy angels who were with me, replied, This valley is the accursed of the accursed for ever. Here shall be collected all who utter with their mouths unbecoming language against God, and speak harsh things of His glory. Here shall they be collected. Here shall be their territory.

 2. Then answered Uriel, one of the holy angels, who was with me, and said to me: "This cursed valley is for those who will be cursed to eternity, and here will be assembled all those who have spoken with their mouths unseemly words against God, and speak insolently of his glory, here they will be assembled, and here will be their judgment.

 2. Then Uriel, one of the holy angels who was with me, answered and said: 'This accursed valley is for those who are accursed for ever: Here shall all the accursed be gathered together who utter with their lips against the Lord unseemly words and of His glory speak hard things. Here shall they be gathered together, and here shall be their place of judgement.

 2. Då svarade Uriel, en af de Helige änglar, som voro med mig. Denna är de evigt fördömdas förbannade dal. Här skola samlas alla, som med sina munnar yttra oanständigt tal emot Gud och tala bittert om Hans ära. Här skola de samlas, här skall deras vistelseort blifva.

 2. Då svarade mig Uriel och sade: Den fördömda dalen är bestämd för dem som varda för evigt fördömda. Här måste alla de samlas, hvilka föra otillbörligt tal mot Gud och tala oförsynt om hans härlighet. Här samlar man dem, och här är deras straffort.

3. In the latter days an example of judgment shall be made of them in righteousness before the saints; while those who have received mercy shall for ever, all their days, bless God, the everlasting King.

 3. And in the latter days there will be the spectacle of a just judgment upon them in the presence of the just, in eternity forever; for this reason they who have found mercy will bless the Lord of glory, the Eternal King.

 3. In the last days there shall be upon them the spectacle of righteous judgement in the presence of the righteous for ever: here shall the merciful bless the Lord of glory, the Eternal King.

Gg In the last times, in the days of the true judgement in the presence of the righteous for ever: here shall the godly bless the Lord of Glory, the Eternal King.

 3. På de yttersta dagarna skall ett exempel af domen verkställas på dem i rättfärdighet inför de heliga, emedan de, som hafva erhållit nåd, skola för evigt i alla sina dagar välsigna Gud den evigt varande Konungen.

 3. I den yttersta tiden skall skådespelet af en rättvis dom för all evighet öfver dem beskäras de rättfärdiga. Fördenskull skola de som funno förbarmande prisa härlighetens Herre, den evige Konungen.
4. And at the period of judgment shall they bless Him for his mercy, as He has distributed it to them.

 4. And in the days of their judgment they will bless him for his mercy, according to which he has assigned to them their lot."

 4. In the days of judgement over the former, they shall bless Him for the mercy in accordance with which He has assigned them (their lot).'

 4. Och i domens stund skola de välsigna Honom för Hans nåd, emedan han har utdelat den till dem.

 4. Och när de dagar komma, då domen fälles öfver dem, skola de prisa honom för den barmhärtighet, hvarmed han skänkt dem deras arfvedel.
5. Then I blessed God, addressing myself to Him, and making mention, as was meet, of His greatness.

 5. Then I blessed the Lord of glory, and spoke to him, and remembered his greatness, as it is fitting.

 5. Then I blessed the Lord of Glory and set forth His glory and lauded Him gloriously.

 5. Då välsignade jag Gud, ställande till Honom sjelf mitt tal, och talande om Hans storhet, såsom tillbörligt var.

 5. Då prisade äfven jag härlighetens Herre och talade till honom och ihågkom såsom sig bör, hans storhet.
