| 49. That ram likewise begat many sheep, and died. Then there was a smaller sheep, (117) a ram, instead of him, which became a prince and leader, conducting the flock. And the sheep increased in size, and multiplied. And all the dogs, foxes, and wild boars feared, and fled away from him. That ram also struck and killed all the wild beasts, so that they could not again prevail in the midst of the sheep, nor at any time ever snatch them away. (117) Solomon. |
and this buck begat many sheep, and reposed [in death]; and a small sheep became the buck in its place, and was the prince and leader of those sheep. And those sheep grew and increased; and the dogs and the foxes and the wild boars were afraid, and fled before it; and that buck butted and killed all the wild beasts, and those wild beasts had no more power among the sheep, and never robbed them of anything.

Denne vädur aflade likaledes många får, och dog. Då var det ett mindre får *) en vädur i stället för denne, som blef furste och anförare, ledsagande hjorden. Och fåren vuxo i storlek och förökades. Och alla hundar, räfvar och vildsvin fruktade och flydde bort från honom. Denna vädur slog och dödade äfven alla vilddjuren, så att de icke kunde åter få öfverhand ibland fåren, ej heller vid något tillfälle bortföra dem. *) Salomon. |
