| 5. For I know, that oppression will exist and prevail on earth; that on earth great punishment shall in the end take place; and that there shall be a consummation of all iniquity, which shall be cut off from its root, and every fabric raised by it shall pass away.

For I know that a condition of oppression will grow strong on the earth, and great punishment will be completed over the earth, and all injustice will be completed and be cut off by the roots, and its whole habitation destroyed.

For I know that violence must increase on the earth, And a great chastisement be executed on the earth, And all unrighteousness come to an end: Yea, it shall be cut off from its roots, And its whole structure be destroyed.

Ty jag vet, att förtrycket skall uppstå och få öfverhand på jorden; att på jorden skall stor bestraffning till slutet äga rum och att all orättfärdighet skall förgås, hvilken skall afhuggas från dess rot, och hvarje påfund, som den åstadkommit, skall försvinna.

Ty jag vet, att ett tillstånd af våldsverkan skall taga öfverhand på jorden och en stor straffdom utföras på henne och all orättfärdighet få ett slut och afskäras från rötterna och hela dess byggnad förgås.
