ENOCH THE PROPHET 1821

BOOK OF ENOCH 1882

BOOK OF ENOCH 1912

PROPHETEN ENOCH 1826

HENOCHS BOK 1901
1. Wait in hope, you righteous; for suddenly shall sinners perish from before you, and you shall exercise dominion over them, according to your will.

1. Hope, ye just, for the sinners will be destroyed suddenly before you, and the power over them will be to you as ye desire.

1. Be hopeful, ye righteous; for suddenly shall the sinners perish before you, And ye shall have lordship over them according to your desires.

1. Vänten i hoppet, J rättfärdige, ty hastigt skola syndare förgås inför eder, och J skolen utöfva herravälde öfver dem efter eder vilja.

1. Varen vid godt mod, I rättfärdiga, ty plötsligt skola syndarna förgås inför eder, och I skolen härska öfver dem efter edert behag.

2. In the day of the sufferings of sinners your offspring shall be elevated, and lifted up like eagles. Your nest shall be more exalted than that of the avest; you shall ascend, and enter into the cavities of the earth, and into the clefts of the rocks for ever, like conies, from the sight of the ungodly; Who shall groan over you, and weep like sirens.

2. And in the day of the trouble of the sinners your children will mount and rise like eagles, and your nest will be higher than the hawk, and ye will ascend and go like the squirrels into the recesses of the earth, and into the clefts of the rock to eternity, before the unjust; but they will lament over you, and cry like satyrs.

2. [And in the day of the tribulation of the sinners, Your children shall mount and rise as eagles, And higher than the vultures will be your nest, And ye shall ascend and enter the crevices of the earth, And the clefts of the rock for ever as coneys before the unrighteous, And the sirens shall sigh because of you - and weep.]

3. You shall not fear those who trouble you; for restoration shall be yours; a splendid light shall shine around you, and the voice of tranquility shall be heard from heaven.

3. But fear not, ye who suffer, for a healing will be to you, and a brilliant light will shine for you, and ye will hear the voice of rest from heaven.

3. Wherefore fear not, ye that have suffered; For healing shall be your portion, And a bright light shall enlighten you, And the voice of rest ye shall hear from heaven.

3. J skolen icke frukta dem, som oroa eder, ty återställelse skall eder förunnas, ett lysande ljus skall skina omkring eder, och fredens röst skall höras från himmelen.

4. Woe to you, sinners; for your wealth makes you resemble saints, but your hearts reproach you, knowing that you are sinners. This word shall testify against you, for the remembrance of crime.

4. Woe to you, sinners, for your riches make you appear like the just, but your hearts prove to you that you are sinners; and this word will be a testimony against you, as a remembrance of wicked deeds.

4. Woe unto you, ye sinners, for your riches make you appear like the righteous, But your hearts convict you of being sinners, And this fact shall be a testimony against you for a memorial of (your) evil deeds.

5. Woe to you who feed upon the glory of the corn, and drink the strength of the deepest spring, and in the pride of your power tread down the humble.

5. Woe to you who devour the marrow of the wheat, and drink the power of the root of the fountain, and trod down the lowly by your power.

5. Woe to you who devour the finest of the wheat, And drink wine in large bowls, And tread under foot the lowly with your might.

6. Woe to you who drink water at pleasure; for suddenly shall you be recompensed, consumed, and withered, because you have forsaken the foundation of life.

6. Woe to you who drink water at all times, for ye will be repaid suddenly, and will dry up and wither, because ye have left the fountain of life.

6. Woe to you who drink water from every fountain, For suddenly shall ye be consumed and wither away, Because ye have forsaken the fountain of life.

6. Ve eder, som alltid dricken vatten, ty plötsligen skolen I få eder lön, och I skolen utsina och förtorka, emedan I hafven öfvergivit Lifvets källa.

7. Woe to you who act iniquitously, fraudulently, and blasphemously; there shall be a remembrance against you for evil.

7. Woe to you who practice injustice and destruction and reviling; there will be a remembrance against you for evil.

7. Woe to you who work unrighteousness And deceit and blasphemy: It shall be a memorial against you for evil.

7. Ve eder, som begån orättfärdighet, bedrägeri och hädelse; minnet af eder ondska skall lefva.

8. Woe to you, powerful, who with power strike down righteousness; for the day of your destruction shall come; while at that very time many and good days shall be the portion of the righteous, even at the period of your judgment.

8. Woe to you powerful, who throw down with power the just ones, for the day of your destruction will come. In those days many and good days will come to the just, on the day of your judgment.

8. Woe to you, ye mighty, Who with might oppress the righteous; For the day of your destruction is coming. In those days many and good days shall come to the righteous – in the day of your judgement.

8. Ve eder, J mäktige, som med makt nedslån rättfärdigheten; ty dagen för eder undergång skall komma, medan många och goda dagar skall blifva de rättfärdigas del, just vid den tiden, just vid eder doms tid.
