2. you who are men, clothe yourselves more elegantly that married women, and both together more so than unmarried ones, (138) everywhere arraying yourselves in majesty, in magnificence, in authority, and in silver: but gold, purple, honour, and wealth, like water, flow away. (138) Than married women... unmarried ones. Or, "than a woman and more coloured (garments) than a girl..." (Knibb, p. 230). |
2. For ye, men, will put on more ornaments than the women, and colored stuffs more than the virgin; in royalty, and in greatness, and in power, and in silver, and in gold, and purple and honor, and in food, they will float away like water.
|
2. For ye men shall put on more adornments than a woman, And coloured garments more than a virgin: In royalty and in grandeur and in power, And in silver and in gold and in purple, And in splendour and in food they shall be poured out as water.

2. J menniskor, kläden eder prägtigare än gifta qvinnor, och begge tillsammans bätre än ogifta, allestädes klädande eder i majestät, i prakt, i myndighet och i silfver; men guld, purpur, ära och rikedom flyta bort likasom vatten.
|
2. Ty I män skolen pryda eder mera än en kvinna och kläda eder brokigare än en jungfru. I kungavärdighet och höghet och härskarmakt och i silfver och guld och purpur och ära och fråsseri skola de försina likt vatten.
