BOOK OF ENOCH 1912

PROPHETEN ENOCH 1826

HENOCHS BOK 1901
1. After this I saw another dream, and explained it all to you, my son.

1. And after this I saw another dream, and I will show thee all, my son.

1. And after this I saw another dream, and I will show the whole dream to thee, my son.

2. Enoch arose and said to his son Mathusala, To you, my son, will I speak. Hear my word; and incline your ear to the visionary dream of your father.

2. And Enoch began, and said to his son Methuselah: "To thee, my son, I will speak; hear my words, and lend thy ear to the vision of the dream of thy father.

2. And Enoch lifted up (his voice) and spake to his son Methuselah: 'To thee, my son, will I speak: hear my words – incline thine ear to the dream-vision of thy father.

3. Before I married your mother Edna, I saw a vision on my bed; (95) And behold, a cow sprung forth from the earth; And this cow was white. Afterwards a female heifer sprung forth; and with it another heifer: (96) one of them was black, and one was red. (97)

(95) This second vision of Enoch seems to portray in symbolic language the complete history of the world from the time of Adam down to the final judgment and the establishment of the Messianic Kingdom (Charles, p. 227). (96) Another heifer. The sense seems to require that the passage should read, "two other heifers" (Laurence, p. 121). (97) Cain and Abel.

3. Before I took thy mother Ednâ, I saw in a vision on my couch, and behold, a bullock came out of the earth, and this bullock was white; and after him there came a female of the same species, and together with this one came other cattle, one of them was black and one red.

3. Before I took thy mother Edna, I saw in a vision on my bed, and behold a bull came forth from the earth, and that bull was white; and after it came forth a heifer, and along with this (latter) came forth two bulls, one of them black and the other red.

4. The black heifer then struck the red one, and pursued it over the earth. From that period I could see nothing more of the red heifer;

4. And that black one horned the red one, and followed it over the earth; and then I could no longer see that red one.

4. And that black bull gored the red one and pursued him over the earth, and thereupon I could no longer see that red bull.

4. Den svarta qvigan slog den röda och förföljde den öfver jorden. Från den tiden kunde jag ej mera se den röda qvigan;

4. Den svarta qvigan slog den röda och förföljde den öfver jorden. Från den tiden kunde jag ej mera se den röda qvigan;

5. but the black one increased in bulk, and a female heifer came with him. After this I saw that many cows proceeded forth, resembling him, and following after him.

5. And that black one grew, and a cow came with it, and I saw that many cattle, like it and following it, came from it.

5. But that black bull grew and that heifer went with him, and I saw that many oxen proceeded from him which resembled and followed him.

6. The first female young one also went out in the presence of the first cow; and sought the red heifer, but found him not. And she lamented with a great lamentation, while she was seeking him.

6. And that cow, the first one, came from the presence of that first bullock, seeking that red one, and did not find it, and then raised a great cry, and hunted it.

6. And that cow, that first one, went from the presence of that first bull in order to seek that red one, but found him not, and lamented with a great lamentation over him and sought him.

7. Then I looked until that first cow came to her, from which time she became silent, and ceased to lament.

7. And I looked until that first bullock came to her and quieted her; and from that time she did not cry aloud.

7. And I looked till that first bull came to her and quieted her, and from that time onward she cried no more.

8. Afterwards she calved another white cow. And again calved many cows and black heifers.

8. And after that she brought forth another white bullock, and after that she brought forth many bullocks and black cows.

8. And after that she bore another white bull, and after him she bore many bulls and black cows.

8. Sedermera kalfvade hon en annan hvit ko. Och kalfvade åter många kor och svarta qvigor.

8. Sedermera kalfvade hon en annan hvit ko. Och kalfvade åter många kor och svarta qvigor.

9. In my sleep also I perceived a white bull, which in like manner grew, and became a large white bull. After him many white cows came forth, resembling him. And they began to calve many other white cows, which resembled them and followed each other.

9. And I saw in my sleep that white bullock grow and become a large white bullock, and from him came many white bullocks, and they were similar to him. And they commenced to beget many white bullocks, and these were similar to them, and one followed the other.

9. And I saw in my sleep that white bull likewise grow and become a great white bull, and from Him proceeded many white bulls, and they resembled him. And they began to beget many white bulls, which resembled them, one following the other, (even) many.
