1. O that my eyes were clouds of water, that I might weep over you, and pour forth my tears like rain, and rest from the sorrow of my heart!

 1. Oh that my eyes were clouds of water, and I could weep over you, and pour out my tears like a cloud of water, and I could rest from the sorrow of my heart.

 1. Oh that mine eyes were [a cloud of] waters That I might weep over you, And pour down my tears as a cloud †of† waters: That so I might rest from my trouble of heart!

 1. O, att mina ögon voro skyar af vatten, att jag måtte gråta öfver eder och utgjuta mina tårar såsom regn och lätta mitt hjertas sorg!

 1. O att mina ögon vore ett vattenmoln, så att jag kunde gråta öfver eder och utgjuta mina tårar såsom ett regnmoln; då finge jag ro för mitt hjärtas bekymmer.
2. Who has permitted you to hate and to transgress? Judgment shall overtake you, ye sinners.

 2. Who has empowered you to practice hate and wickedness? May the judgment reach you, the sinners!

 2. †Who has permitted you to practice reproaches and wickedness? And so judgement shall overtake you, sinners. †

 2. Hvem har tillåtit eder att hata och att öfverträda? Dom skall komma öfver eder, J syndare!

 2. Hvem har tillstadt eder att hysa hat och föröfva det ont är? Alltså må domen drabba eder, I syndare!
3. The righteous shall not fear the wicked; because God will again bring them into your power, that you may avenge yourselves of them according to your pleasure.

 3. Fear not the sinners, ye just, for God will give them into your hands again, that ye may pass judgment over them, as ye desire.

 3. Fear not the sinners, ye righteous; For again will the Lord deliver them into your hands, That ye may execute judgement upon them according to your desires.

 3. De rättfärdige skola icke frukta de onda, emedan Gud skall åter bringa dem i edert våld, på det J mågen hämna eder på dem efter eget behag.

 3. Frukten icke för syndarna, I rättfärdiga, ty än en gång skall Herren öfverantvarda dem i edra händer, att I mån döma dem efter edert behag.
4. Woe to you who shall be so bound by execrations, that you cannot be released from them; the remedy being far removed from you on account of your sins.

 4. Woe to you who pronounce curses that they be not loosened, and healing will be far from you on account of your sins!

 4. Woe to you who fulminate anathemas which cannot be reversed: Healing shall therefore be far from you because of your sins.

 4. Ve eder, som skolen så bindas af förbannelser, att J icke kunnen blifva förlossade ifrån dem; ty botemedlet är långt skildt ifrån eder, för edra synders skull.

 4. Ve eder, som utslungen oupplösliga förbannelser, ty läkedom skall vara fjärran ifrån eder för eder synders skull.
5. Woe to you who recompense your neighbour with evil; for you shall be recompensed according to your works.

 5. Woe to you who repay evil to your neighbor, for ye will be repaid according to your deeds!

 5. Woe to you who requite your neighbour with evil; For ye shall be requited according to your works.

 5. Ve eder, som belönen edra grannar med ondt; ty J skolen belönas efter edra gerningar.

 5. Ve eder, som lönen med ondt eder nästa, ty det skall gäldas eder efter edra gärningar.
6. Woe to you, false witnesses, you who aggravate iniquity; for you shall suddenly perish.

 6. Woe to you, the witnesses of untruth, and to those who weigh injustice, for ye will be destroyed suddenly.

 6. Woe to you, lying witnesses, And to those who weigh out injustice, For suddenly shall ye perish.

 6. Ve eder, J falske vittnen, som förvärren orättfärdigheten; ty J skolen hastigt förgås.

 6. Ve eder, I falska vittnen, och eder, som uttänken det orätt är, ty plötsligen skolen I omkomma.
7. Woe to you, sinners; for you reject the righteous; for you receive or reject at pleasure those who commit iniquity; and their yoke shall prevail over you.

 7. Woe to you sinners, for ye pursue the just; for ye will be given over and pursued, ye men of injustice, and heavy will be their yokes upon you.

 7. Woe to you, sinners, for ye persecute the righteous; For ye shall be delivered up and persecuted because of injustice, And heavy shall its yoke be upon you.

 7. Ve eder, J syndare, ty J förkasten de rättfärdiga; ty J emottagen eller förkasten efter behag dem, som begå orättfärdighet, och deras ok skall komma öfver eder.

 7. Ve eder, I syndare, emedan I förföljen de rättfärdiga, ty I skolen få eder lön och själfva varda förföljda, I orättvisans folk, och tungt skall deras ok ligga på eder.
