BOOK OF ENOCH 1882

BOOK OF ENOCH 1912

PROPHETEN ENOCH 1826

HENOCHS BOK 1901
1. In those days shall fathers be struck down with their children in the presence of each other; and brethren with their brethren shall fall dead: until a river shall flow from their blood.

1. And in those days the fathers will be slain in one place with their sons, and brothers with the others will fall in death, till it flows like a stream from their blood.

1. And in those days in one place the fathers together with their sons shall be smitten And brothers one with another shall fall in death Till the streams flow with their blood.

2. For a man shall not restrain his hand from his children, nor from his children’s children; his mercy will be to kill them. Nor shall the sinner restrain his hand from his honoured brother. From the dawn of day to the setting sun shall the slaughter continue.

2. For a man will not in mercy draw his hand from his sons, and from his sons' sons, to kill them; and the sinner will not draw his hand from his honored brother; from the dawn to the setting sun they will kill each other.

2. For a man shall not withhold his hand from slaying his sons and his sons' sons, And the sinner shall not withhold his hand from his honoured brother: From dawn till sunset they shall slay one another.

3. The horse shall wade up to his breast, and the chariot shall sink to its axle, in the blood of sinners.

3. And a horse will walk up to his breast in the blood of the sinners, and a wagon will sink in to its height.

3. And the horse shall walk up to the breast in the blood of sinners, And the chariot shall be submerged to its height.

4. In those days the angels shall descend into places of concealment, and gather together in one spot all who have assisted in crime. In that day shall the Most High rise up to execute the great judgment upon all sinners,

4. And it those days the angels will come into the secret places, and will collect in one place all those who aided sin; and the Most High will arise on that day to pass a great judgment over all the sinners.

4. In those days the angels shall descend into the secret places, And gather together into one place all those who brought down sin, And the Most High will arise on that day of judgement, To execute great judgement amongst sinners.

5. and to commit the guardianship of all the righteous and holy to the holy angels, that they may protect them as the apple of an eye, until every evil and every crime be annihilated. Whether or not the righteous sleep securely, wise men shall then truly perceive.

5. But over all the just and holy he will place holy angels as watchmen to watch them like the apple of an eye, till an end has been made to evil and to all sin; and even if the holy sleep a long sleep there is nothing to fear.

5. And over all the righteous and holy He will appoint guardians from amongst the holy angels, To guard them as the apple of an eye, Until He makes an end of all wickedness and all sin, And though the righteous sleep a long sleep, they have nought to fear.

6. And the sons of the earth shall understand every word of that book, knowing that their riches cannot save them in the ruin of their crimes.

6. And the wise among men will see the truth, and the children of the earth will understand all the words of this book, and know that their riches will not be able to save them in the overthrow of their sins.

6. And (then) the children of the earth shall see the wise in security, And shall understand all the words of this book, And recognize that their riches shall not be able to save them In the overthrow of their sins.

6. Och jordens söner skola förstå hvarje ord i denna bok, vetande att deras rikedomar ej kunna frälsa dem från förderfvet af deras brott.

7. Woe to you, sinners, when you shall be afflicted on account of the righteous in the day of the great trouble; shall be burnt in the fire; and be recompensed according to your deeds.

7. Woe to you sinners, if ye trouble the just, on the day of great pain, and burn them with fire; ye will be repaid according to your work.

7. Woe to you, Sinners, on the day of strong anguish, Ye who afflict the righteous and burn them with fire: Ye shall be requited according to your works.

8. Woe to you, perverted in heart, who are watchful to obtain an accurate knowledge of evil, and to discover terrors. No one shall assist you.

8. Woe to the hardened of heart, who watch to contrive wickedness: fear will be about to come over you, and there will be none to save you.

8. Woe to you, ye obstinate of heart, Who watch in order to devise wickedness: Therefore shall fear come upon you And there shall be none to help you.

9. Woe to you, sinners; for with the words of your mouths, and with the work of your hands, have you acted impiously; in the flame of a blazing fire shall you be burnt.

9. Woe to you sinners, for on account of the words of your mouth, and on account of the deeds of your hands, which ye have done, ye who act impiously will burn in a pool of flaming fire.

9. Woe to you, ye sinners, on account of the words of your mouth, And on account of the deeds of your hands which your godlessness as wrought, In blazing flames burning worse than fire shall ye burn.

9. Ve eder, J syndare, ty med edra munnars ord och edra händers verk hafven J begått ogudaktighet; i lågan af en brinnande eld skolen J brännas.

10. And now know, that the angels shall inquire into your conduct in heaven; of the sun, the moon, and the stars, shall they inquire respecting your sins; for upon earth you exercise jurisdiction over the righteous.

10. And now know that the angels will seek out your deeds in heaven from the sun and the moon and the stars in reference to your sins, because ye pass judgment on the earth on the just.

10. And now, know ye that from the angels He will inquire as to your deeds in heaven, from the sun and from the moon and from the stars in reference to your sins because upon the earth ye execute judgement on the righteous.

11. Every cloud shall bear witness against you, the snow, the dew, and the rain: for all of them shall be withholden from you, that they may not descend upon you, nor become subservient to your crimes.

11. And he will call to testify over you each cloud and fog and dew and rain, for they all will be kept back from you that they do not descend upon you; and shall they not think of your sins?

11. And He will summon to testify against you every cloud and mist and dew and rain; for they shall all be withheld because of you from descending upon you, and they shall be mindful of your sins.

12. Now then bring gifts of salutation to the rain; that, not being withholden, it may descend upon you; and to the dew, if it has received from you gold and silver.

12. And now give presents to the rain that it may not be kept back from descending upon you, or the dew when it has received gold or silver from you.

12. And now give presents to the rain that it be not withheld from descending upon you, nor yet the dew, when it has received gold and silver from you that it may descend.

13. But when the frost, snow, cold, every snowy wind, and every suffering belonging to them, fall upon you, in those days you will be utterly incapable of standing before them.

13. When hoar-frost and snow and their coldness descend upon you, and all the winds of the snow and all their plagues, in those days ye will not be able to stand before them.

13. When the hoar-frost and snow with their chilliness, and all the snow-storms with all their plagues fall upon you, in those days ye shall not be able to stand before them.
