To understand the prophecies in the Bible, you have to know that God is "time-blind". That is, as we know, to him a day is as a thousand years and vice versa. So when speaking about future events, through the prophets, we cannot assume that every detail in the prophecy will be fulfilled in the same order or in the same timeframe, as other details in the prophecy. It is as someone has said, when you look at a mountain range in the distant, you only see the mountain tops, and have no idea of everything that is in between those tops, all the valleys, streams and so on. A prophecy of future events can be a short summary of distant things to come, with sometimes hundreds, or thousand year gaps in between the details. All we know is that those things are going to come to pass. We don't know in which order, or in which time, because as I wrote, God doesn't see time as we, and unless he expressly says that things are going to happen in a certain order (like using the word 'thereafter'), or within a specific timeframe, we are not supposed to do it either.

The greek words above means times and seasons (Acts. 1:7

). Note that it says times and seasons. Plural. It's not all going to happen in one day, or one year, or one blink of an eye. There are times, and seasons, coming, that we are not allowed to know about, except for that they are coming. Not when, not how. Why do you think this is? Why does God hide these things to us? Easy to answer: Because he doesn't want the enemy to know it. Didn't he tell us that expressly, also?

It's not our business to know exactly how future things are going to take place, or when, because then the enemy would know it too. And he would have an advantage.

It's like the D day during the second world war. Everyone knew it was coming, but no one, except for some leaders of the allies, knew when and where. It was to be hidden, so that the nazis couldn't know, and prepare, and stop it.

Now, God can't be stopped, obviously, but you can. We can. Humans can. If our enemy knew exactly when and how future, prophesied events would take place, he would do everything he can to entangle humans and especially christians in different things, just for that moment, or just in that place, to stop or at least hinder God's work, and the salvation and rescue of the christians. And much more that is easy to imagine, in the realms of economy, politics, religion, and so on.

So what christians that are trying to figure out the were's and when's are doing, is helping the enemy. And they are going directly against our King's orders. It's NOT OUR BUSINESS to know times and seasons. It's enough for us to know that it will happen, and that we are to be ready for those events, whenever they come.

The thing that will get you ready for the coming of Jesus, or for any future event, is not knowing when or where it is going to happen anyway. You could know all that, and yet not be ready for it. And you can know nothing about it, and yet be ready for it. It is your relation with Jesus that matters. And your filling with the Holy Spirit. Having that, you ARE ready. For what ever that will come.
